just enough time...

So, I decided to bring everyone up to speed a little bit this morning. The Schartz's have been hiding some pertinent information... I have a tad bit of extra time, a quiet house, homemade chili in my belly, and enough diet coke to last the length of the post.

First things first!

IT SNOWED FOR REAL LAST NIGHT!!!! The roads started to get mushy and slippery last night, and by morning they were pretty bad. I got to the gym and back for my last personal training session, and Jesse is currently out running errands.

Now... getting on to the beef of my post:

Changes in the Schartz household. After much consideration, Jesse has decided to go back as an active duty bandsmen. *gasp* He thought long and hard about the decision, and it definitely wasn't one that was taken lightly. Back in August, he decided to take the job that Wright Patterson AFB in Dayton offered, and started diligently losing a few pounds to meet the recruiters and AF standard. He completed MEPS (the processing center where you go for a physical, eye / ear exam, duck walk, ect) and completed it without any problems. The head medical doctor (actually, he was a big douche!) decided that because Jesse had ACL replacement surgery in 2004, he needed to have an orthopedic consult.
That was just before Christmas. Skipping almost three weeks ahead, yesterday he had the consult and everything went very smoothly. Thank Goodness! As of now... we are waiting for a date for Jesse to be sworn in (for the second time in his military career) and then begin his in-processing at Wright-Patt.

I am very excited for this. I honestly think that Jesse is doing this for me... he might not outright say it, but in my heart, I think he knows I was beginning to worry about a few things. The military provides comfort, healthcare, $money$, and benefits. It also provides Jesse a one-hour long commute each way... this is the downfall. BUT, he continues to state that he doesn't mind the drive, and I think he is really anxious to start working again.

That is my big news... I reintroduce to you... TSgt Jesse Schartz.

Moving on...

I have had a terrible time getting started back into school mode. It isn't that I want to quit, it's the fact that I know how damn hard this is, and I sometimes feel that I'm not up to the challenge. Jesse and my family and close friends have been a wonderful support and belief system... I just wish that I could see in myself the strength and courage that they see. I have wonderful teachers again this quarter (2 of the 3 are the same), and I have an AWESOME clinical instructor. This helps things... but already this quarter things are stressful and with a pathophysiology / pharmacology midterm quickly approaching next Thursday, I have some buckling down to do. Serious.

I'm working on a progressive care unit this and next quarter and I really think that I will be awarded a lot of awesome experience and maybe even some personal growth. My mind tells me that I can't do a lot of things, but I need to learn to have confidence and self-esteem and press on. Basically, I just need to suck up the fact that this is hard. I have promised myself that I have permanently taken the words can't, hate, and won't out of my vocabulary. Hold me to it.

More about me... sorry!

I have been interviewed for a student nurse assistant (SNA) position at Ohio State Medical Center. The interview was last Thursday, and I have already been contacted telling me that they are reaching out to my references. The job isn't mine yet, so I'm trying to not get my hopes up. There are a lot of great girls fighting for this position... I hope they choose the oldest with the most military and discipline experience. That should help them limit their choices :o) My first ever real-live job interview went well. I had practiced some sample interview questions, and tried not to stumble all over myself like I normally do. Jesse helped me by giving some interview advice as well... what would I do without that boy in my life! *swoon.over.jesse.schartz*
So... as of now, I check the website and my email approximately 1,724,832,849,283 times a day and hope to see something from human resources. Continue, if you don't mind, to send powerful thoughts to those making the final decision. They would have a great worker who wants to learn if they chose me!

This lil' girl is doing much better. The last thing you knew was that she had pink eye in both eyes and clean anal glands. We have put her medicine in her eyes twice a day as directed, and they are looking much much much better.

I found this picture on a blog that I read, and it screamed out to me. I think, along with ridding myself of can't, hate, and won't, this will be my 2012 motto. It's good to set standards for yourself, and this would be just that. Plus it's a really cute and great photograph!

Finally... I give you a picture of me. Just because I have a new app on my phone and I like that you can't see the circles under my eyes, the extra chin, and how mountainous my pores have become.

Have a great day. Be compassionate. Tell someone they are beautiful. Keep calm and be sweet!
